Paris, France 30th September 2010 – The groundbreaking, all-new Range Rover Evoque makes its global public debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Dr Ralf Speth, CEO, Jaguar Land Rover, said: “These are exciting times for our business as we continue to widen our portfolio with this all-new addition to the Range Rover line-up. Not only will the Range Rover Evoque increase our worldwide market share, but it demonstrates our commitment to building sustainable, yet highly desirable products.”
Dr Speth continued: “The Evoque helps to define a new segment for premium compact SUVs that are more sporting and stylish.
Mercedes’ design boss Gordon Wagener has revealed to WhatCar that they are planning to go exactly the same route with the CLA as they did with the CLS, and create a coupe estate. The CLS Shooting Brake (pictured below) has been very well received, and with much of the world downsizing its cars a CLA Estate is a very sensible way to go, offering all the good design elements of the CLA – which already looks like a CLS on a boil wash – in a car that has more practicality. Wagener gave no idea of time scale for the CLA Shooting Brake, but with the first CLAs expected to hit customers in June it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a concept CLA Shooting Brake arrive by the time of the Frankfurt Motor Show in September before going on sale in 2014.
The Nissan Juke small SUV joins the automaker’s lineup in October with sticker prices starting at $19,710, including a $750 destination charge. The Juke lineup has three trim levels--S, SV and SL. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission or continuously variable transmission, and front-drive or all-wheel-drive drivetrains.
